How To Use Frican Continental Listings

Everything you need to know — from browsing to selling to managing your account

1. Getting Started

Register (Free)
  1. Click Register Free in the top-right header or nav
  2. Enter your phone number — this is your login credential
  3. Fill in your name and surname
  4. Select your country and enter your town / city
  5. Choose a username and password
  6. Read and tick the security acknowledgement
  7. Click Create Account
Tip: Your phone number is your username for login. Keep it handy.
Login
  1. Click Login in the top-right header
  2. Enter your phone number or username
  3. Enter your password
  4. Tick the security acknowledgement
  5. Click Login
Important: Your login details are recorded for security. Never share your password.
Forgot your password? Click the "Forgot your password?" link on the login page, enter your registered email address, and a secure reset link will be sent to you. The link expires after 1 hour. Check your spam folder if it does not arrive within a few minutes.

2. Browse & Search

Hub

The home page shows all latest listings. Browse freely without an account.

Categories

Click Categories in the nav to browse by type — Property, Vehicles, Tourism & Travel, Services, and more.

Search & Filter

Use the search bar to filter by keyword, location, and category. Use the country filter bar on the Hub to narrow listings by African nation.

Featured Listings
Top of the Hub shows a Featured strip — these are hand-picked by the admin as trusted, high-quality listings worth highlighting.
Tip: Type a town name like "Nairobi" or "Lagos" in the location filter to find listings near you.

3. Watchlist & Wishlist

Watchlist — Save Listings

Found a listing you want to revisit? Click the bookmark icon on any listing card or listing page to save it to your Watchlist. You must be logged in.

  • Access your Watchlist from Dashboard → My Watchlist
  • Click the bookmark again to remove a listing from your Watchlist
  • Watchlisted listings are private — only you can see them
Tip: Great for comparing multiple listings before making a decision.
Sought After — What You Need

Can't find what you're looking for? Post a Sought After request so sellers can come to you. Click I'm Looking For… in the nav or Hub.

  • Describe the item or service you need
  • Set a budget and your location
  • Sellers browsing the platform can see your request and contact you
  • Manage your requests from Dashboard → My Wishlist
Free to post. No account? You still need to register to post a Sought After request.

4. Place a Listing

Free

You must be logged in to place a listing. Click Place Listing in the nav.

Listing Title
Choose a clear, descriptive title. Example: "3-Bedroom House in Nairobi — Westlands" or "Samsung Galaxy S22 — Good Condition".

Category
Select the most relevant category: Property, Rent a Room or House, Vehicles, Electronics & Gadgets, Services, Jobs & Employment, Fashion & Clothing, Agriculture & Food, Events & Entertainment, Tourism & Travel, Business & B2B, Health & Beauty, Education & Training, Babies & Kids, or Pets & Animals.

Description
Write a detailed description. Include condition, key features, what's included, and any important details a buyer would need to know.

Price (USD)
Enter the price in US Dollars. Set 0.00 if the price is negotiable or you prefer to discuss.

Location
Enter the suburb and city. Example: "Westlands, Nairobi" or "Lekki, Lagos".

Photos
Upload clear photos from multiple angles. Listings with photos receive significantly more inquiries. JPG, PNG or WEBP, max 5MB each.

Video
Optional: upload a short video (MP4 or MOV, max 15MB) to showcase your item or service.

Submit
Click "Deploy to National Grid". Your listing goes live immediately and appears on the Hub for all visitors to see.
Listing Expiry: Listings are active for 60 days. After that, your dashboard will show an expiry warning. Click Renew to reset the listing back to today's date and keep it live.

5. Contact a Seller

When you open a listing, you have two ways to reach the seller:

WhatsApp Button

Click the green Contact on WhatsApp button on any listing. Opens WhatsApp with a pre-written message so you can contact the seller instantly.

No login required to use WhatsApp.
Send an Inquiry

Scroll down on any listing and fill in the Send an Inquiry form. Your message is sent directly to the seller and recorded on the platform.

Guests need to provide a name and phone number. Logged-in users just type a message.
Share a Listing
On any listing page, use the Share on WhatsApp button to send the listing link to contacts, or click Copy Link to copy the URL to your clipboard.

6. Your Dashboard

Once logged in, click your name in the top-right or go to /dashboard. Your dashboard shows:

All Your Listings
A table of every listing you have placed. Click any title to open the listing page.
Search & Filter
Filter your own listings by keyword, location, category, and price. Sort by date, price, or views.
Engagement Views
See how many times each listing has been viewed by other users.
Received Inquiries
View messages sent to you by buyers (visible when messaging is active).
Edit Profile
Update your name, phone, location, title, profile picture, and password.
New Listing
Quick link to place a new listing directly from your dashboard.
Expiry Warnings
Listings older than 60 days display an orange expiry warning in your dashboard. Click Renew next to the listing to reset it and keep it live.
Unread Message Badge
A red number badge appears on the Dashboard button in the header whenever you have unread messages. It updates automatically every minute.

7. Edit a Listing

You can update the title, description, price, location, category, and photos of any listing you own.

Go to your Dashboard and click the listing title you want to edit — it will open the listing page.

Scroll to the bottom of the listing page. If you own the listing, a gold Edit This Listing button appears on the right.

Click it. A confirmation prompt appears: "Are you sure you want to edit this listing?" Click Yes, Edit Listing to proceed.

The edit form opens with all current details pre-filled. Make your changes to any field.

To remove a photo, click the red ✕ icon on the thumbnail — it will be marked "Will be removed".

To add new photos or a video, use the "Add New Media" section at the bottom of the form.

Enter your account password in the "Confirm Your Identity" section at the bottom.

Click Save Changes. A second confirmation asks: "Are you sure?" Click Yes, Save Changes to finalise.

If the wrong password is entered, nothing is saved and you are returned to the form with an error message.
Why a password? Your password confirms it is really you making changes — this protects your listings if someone else uses your device.

8. Manage a Listing

Owner Only

Once a listing is live, the owner can take several management actions directly from the listing page — scroll to the bottom to find these buttons.

Mark as Sold

Once your item sells, click Mark as Sold. The listing gets a "SOLD" banner and is removed from active search results. Buyers who view it directly will see it is no longer available.

This cannot be undone from the listing page — contact admin to reinstate.
Delete Listing

Click Delete Listing to permanently remove it from the platform. You will be asked to confirm. Once deleted, the listing is gone and you will be taken back to your Dashboard.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be reversed.
Account Deletion — 48-Hour Grace Period

If an administrator schedules your account for deletion, it enters a "Deletion Pending" status. Your data is retained for 48 hours before permanent removal. During this window an administrator can cancel the deletion. After 48 hours all data is permanently and irreversibly purged.

Contact support immediately if you believe your account was marked for deletion in error.
Renew Listing

Listings expire after 60 days. When your Dashboard shows an expiry warning, click Renew to reset the listing date to today. This moves it back to the top of search results.

Renewing is free and can be done as many times as needed.
Share Listing

Use the Share on WhatsApp button to send the listing link directly to contacts, or click Copy Link to copy the URL to your clipboard and share anywhere.

Available to all visitors — not just the owner.

9. Seller Profile Pages

Every registered lister has a public seller profile page at /seller/username. This page shows:

Seller Info
Name, title, location, and how long they have been on the platform.
Online Status
A green dot means the seller was active in the last 5 minutes. Grey means offline.
All Their Listings
All currently live listings from that seller in one place.
Tip: Click on a seller's name anywhere on the platform to go straight to their profile and see everything they are selling.

10. Your Profile

Go to Dashboard → Edit Profile to update your personal details.

Profile Picture
Click the camera icon on your avatar to upload a photo. JPG or PNG, max 5MB. Your picture shows on your listings and profile.
Name & Surname
Keep your name accurate so buyers know who they are dealing with. Required field.
Phone / WhatsApp
This number appears on your listings so buyers can contact you directly. Keep it up to date.
Title / Profession
Choose from available options — Director, Estate Agent, Electrician, Mechanic, Tour Guide, and more. Appears under your name on your public profile.
Location
Your city or town. Helps buyers know where you are based.
Contact Preference
Choose WhatsApp, Telegram, Direct Call, or Email to indicate how you prefer to be reached.
Facebook Link
Optional. Link your Facebook profile so buyers can verify who you are.
Change Password
Enter a new password to update it. Leave blank to keep the current one. If you have forgotten your password, use the <a href="/forgot-password" style="color:var(--gold);font-weight:700;">Forgot your password?</a> link on the login page to reset it via email.

Click Save Profile to apply your changes.

11. Inquiries & Messages

As a Buyer — Sending an Inquiry
  • Open any listing and scroll to the Send an Inquiry section
  • If logged in: just type your message and submit
  • If not logged in: enter your name, phone, and message
  • The seller receives your message and can reply
  • You can also use the WhatsApp button to contact them directly
As a Seller — Receiving Inquiries
  • Inquiries appear in your Dashboard under "Received Market Inquiries"
  • A red badge on the Dashboard button shows unread message count
  • You will also receive a WhatsApp message if the buyer contacts you via the WhatsApp button
  • Respond promptly — buyers often contact multiple sellers

12. FAQ & Support

FAQ Page

Visit FAQ to see questions already answered by the admin. If your question isn't there:

  1. Log in (required so we can reply to you)
  2. Scroll to the "Ask a Question" form
  3. Type your question and submit
  4. The admin will answer it — your answer then appears publicly on the FAQ page
Contact Support

For account issues, listing problems, or to report a user, visit Contact:

  1. Log in (required — replies are sent to your dashboard)
  2. Select a topic from the dropdown
  3. Type your message and submit
  4. Check your Dashboard → Received Inquiries for the admin reply

13. Stay Safe Online

Read This
Always meet in a public place for in-person exchanges
Never pay before inspecting the item in person
Verify the item, video proof, and documents before committing
Never share your ID, PIN, or banking details
Report suspicious listings via the Contact page
Trust your instincts — walk away if something feels wrong

14. Frican New Business Connections

New

Frican New Business Connections (FNBC) is the professional business networking arm of the Frican ecosystem — purpose-built for Africans and the diaspora to forge meaningful commercial relationships. It is fully accessible from your Frican account without any separate login or password.

How to Access FNBC
  1. Log in to Frican Continental Listings
  2. Click Frican New Business Connections in the top navigation bar — you are instantly signed in via SSO
  3. Alternatively: go directly to FNBC and sign in using your Frican username and password
  4. Begin exploring potential partners in your field
What You Can Do on FNBC
  • Request Collaborations — reach out to potential partners
  • Find Business Partners — across all 54 African nations
  • Seek New Engagements — expand your business reach
  • Detail Your Services — present yourself to prospective associates
  • Request Conversations — with future partners in your field

15. BizNez Bookkeeping

Free

BizNezBookkeeping is the free financial management tool for African small businesses — built into the Frican ecosystem. Track your income, record expenses, view monthly summaries and download professional PDF reports, all without a separate account or password.

How to Access BizNez Books
  1. Log in to Frican Continental Listings
  2. Click BizNez Books in the top navigation bar
  3. You are automatically signed in using your Frican identity
  4. No separate password or registration is required
What You Can Do
  • Dashboard — record income and expenses instantly
  • Paid to — track who you paid for each expense

Click + Income, enter amount and description, choose a category, click Save
